Collaborative Space
The Idea Lab is simultaneously a classroom, a design studio, a prototyping lab, a community workspace, and—above all else—a place where people and ideas are brought together in the spirit of connecting, sharing, learning, creating, and solving real, complex problems.
Creative, versatile collaboration is at the core of the lab's physical design. Sky lights along with glass walls and glass doors provide transparency and natural light. A flat-screen TV provides opportunity for showing presentations, analyzing data, or streaming video. A mobile wall and moveable furniture creates a versatile working environment for any arrangement and any size group. Clusters of small stools and chairs surround circular dry-erase tables which can be easily moved and regrouped into a wide variety of configurations. Nearly every surface in the lab is covered in dry-erase paint, transforming the lab itself into the working surface for projects. |
